Tattoo

I got this tattoo on Wednesday 10/10/07.

PLEASE don't steal the design. I commissioned it from somebody because I didn't know how to put the pieces together myself, but it has a lot of meaning to me.
Hence why the watermark is there.


The triquetra is representative of my faith in Christianity. It represents the trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Christianity is something I will have faith in in the rest of my life and will always be meaningful to me based on that it was such a big part of my life in young-adulthood.

The lily of the valley has a double meaning. First off it is also Christian because it is legend that when Mary cried at the grave of Jesus, her tears that fell turned into Lily of the Valley flowers - and because of this they are also called Our Lady's Tears. From this it's also a tribute to my mother who passed away my freshman year of college. It's kind of showing that yes, it's something sad, but at the same time there's hope for happiness, because flowers are meant to grow.

The location is a combination of things. First of all it's because I figured it'd be a place that wouldn't change shape as I get older and gain or lose weight. Also, because it's on my back it's kind of like faith. I can't see it necessarily, but I know it's there, and I can find it if I look hard enough.
