So....gallery is officially cleaned up. Some of my older, poorer work is in scraps and the featured folder is just that - featured work. But I guess that doesn't have much to do with the title of this entry...
Just over two weeks ago, June 26th, my boyfriend of two years proposed to me. I was mainly waiting to share until I got the ring back from being sized so I could share that too. Here's the story for those who are interested.
First off, with our anniversary having been two days beforehand, he told me that he had ordered a gift online for me that wasn't going to be delivered until probably the following week. Then, that Sunday we had gone to his grandparents' house about 45 minutes south of where we live. We had been socializing and his grandfather was tinkering with my car changing the oil and whatnot when my boyfriend asked me if I wanted to take a walk down to the creek that's in their backyard. This is something we always do so I didn't think much of it. We had gone down into a little alcove where we normally don't go. I was sitting and just enjoying the scenery while he skipped rocks and walked around. I did notice that he kept putting his hand in his pocket, which isn't something he normally does, but I brushed it off as my imagination. A little while later he sat down with me and we were talking when he asked "Do you love me?" I told him of course I did and asked him the same thing back, which he answered affirmatively. Then he added "This is how much", pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked me if I would marry him. The first word out of my mouth wasn't really an answer, but rather "Seriously?" I was so thrown off in thinking that a proposal was nowhere in the near future from our previous conversations on the subject. He of course said "yes" which made me start crying and just nodded as an answer. Then I came to the conclusion that there was no gift and he was just trying (successfully) to throw me off the trail even more.
We don't have a date or anything yet, but I'm super excited anyways. Also, my little in Mu Beta Psi got engaged the day after (
) which I was also shocked by the coincidence of. But congrats to her as well.
This is seriously one of the prettiest rings I have ever seen and I am so proud of my boyfriend (who I thought might have little sense of style when it comes to jewelry) for picking it out....with a little help from the salesgirl.
